Quick update on the WildFit experiment

So: “I’ve been doing an experiment for the last two months on switching between WildFit spring and WildFit summer.” I wanted to track what happens when I toggle between those seasonal modes. In practice, the experiment has taught me something simple but important for my physiology: “one week on, one week off is not enough time for the body to be in ketosis and really make a difference.”

That matters because switching frameworks on my body and metabolism needs clarity โ€” and two-week blocks make more sense. So I’m going back to a pattern: WildFit winter/spring for two weeks, then WildFit summer/fall for two weeks, and keep flipping back and forth. This means I am alternating two-week blocks, not one-week blocks. “Monday, I will go back to WildFit Winter fasting, then spring, then late summer/fall.”

Fasting rhythm, ketosis, and nutrient concerns

“Once again, when I was doing a bunch of five-day fasts and then some three days, the body has requested that I switch.” The pattern that’s settling in for me is alternating longer and shorter fasts: “I do five days this next week and then, the next month will be three days, and then five days, and three days, and five days.”

Fasting isn’t just a willpower contest. I was honest: “there is some white knuckling when it comes to fasting, especially for like five days, because there are sections of the brain that are designed to keep us alive. And if we stop eating, they freak out. I know from experience.”

That explains why I’m spacing things out and listening to the feedback. “I’ve found some other nutrient sources that I can use when I’m in summer, fall, to get the nutrients before going into WildFit winter, so I’m not simply starving myself.” That matters: fasting should be useful, not brutal. Are you getting enough nutrients to make a fast worth it? You need to plan for it, and I’m doing that planning.

Chicago: the road trip and the Field Museum

Mid-week, we took a little trip: “Chicago. That was cool. A friend of mine from Mexico City came up to the states, and from where we are, Chicago is only like an eight-and-a-half- or nine-hour drive.” “Having lived in Texas for a very long time, where it takes three to four hours to get anywhere interesting. Nine hours is not that much.”

We hit the Field Museum. “I think it was actually in Chicago. I’m not gonna swear.” “They’ve got a really interesting exhibit on the five major extinction events that we know about for the planet. And they had all kinds of fossils and fossilized bones and so forth and so on.” I haven’t been near large dinosaur skeletons, it was really awesome.

“It was really cool to get to meet someone I have only known on camera for four or five years now.”

Energy work: returning to the system after Inner Voice Mastery

“In terms of energy work for the planet, we didn’t get to any of that this week. I mean, driving on Friday, it’s kinda hard to do.” My wife drove โ€” “My wife loves to drive, so I let her.” โ€” and that meant I had less active time for coordinated work.

“I’ve actually begun returning to, the system after Inner Voice Mastery and fleshing that out and doing the work.” I literally cleared “six sections of that stadium yesterday.” I got tired of the swirling storm in my head and above my head. So I got rid of it, and then after I was done, I checked into how many I cleared, and I got six. Wow. So then there’s only three left for that.

Be the light you want to see in the world.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

If there’s a thought or a voice in your head that tells you how crappy you are: Thank it, Ruthlessly fire it, and Escort it from the building because it is not yours.

FAQ:

  1. Q: How long will you stay on each WildFit season?

A: Two weeks each. “WildFit winter and spring for two weeks, and then WildFit summer fall for two weeks, and keep flipping back and forth.”

  2. Q: Are you fasting regularly?

A: Yes. My pattern is alternating across months. Five days this next week and then, the next month will be three days, and then five days, and three days, and five days. I listen to the body and adjust.

  3. Q: How do you handle nutrient needs during fasting?

A: I described finding other nutrient sources in summer/fall “to get the nutrients before going into WildFit winter, so I’m not simply starving myself.” Plan ahead so fasting is effective without being harmful.

  4. Q: What did you see in Chicago?

A: The Field Museum had an exhibit on the five major extinction events and a bunch of fossils. It was really awesome, and I hadn’t been near big dinosaur skeletons.
